Beckett & Co Solicitors was once again thrilled to play host to over 60 local businesses, charities, media and enterprise organisations at our first Chorley Tweetup networking event of the year. The coffee and conversations flowed at the event at Runshaw College Business Centre, Euxton Lane, Chorley, where we were once again joined by our media partners, Chorley FM.
What is Chorley Tweetup?
Chorley Tweetup gives local tweeters an opportunity to connect beyond social media: to follow up their tweeting by meeting! Here at Beckett & Co Solicitors we’re huge fans of social media and believe that social media platforms, such as Twitter, are excellent communication tools that allow people to connect and build relationships. Bringing Tweeters face to face allows people to take those online relationships to the next level.
On 12th February we were joined by our local community radio station, Chorley FM. The station’s Commercial Director, Stuart Heaton, explained how businesses can join businesses like Beckett & Co Solicitors as ‘corporate partners’ of the station, which in turn allows the station to provide free services to local community organisations and charities.
Chorley FM, which is run and staffed entirely by volunteers, also donated the star prize for the business card draw, a month’s free radio advertising, which was won by a very happy Stephen Ward of Leyland business Business Gift UK.
Why Tweetup in Chorley?
We’re passionate about Chorley and have a mission to help to put Chorley on the map! Chorley has a thriving business community, and events such as the Chorley Tweetup, which attracts people from around Lancashire, helps to create a buzz about doing business in Chorley. Local businesses come together to network together in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that encourages collaboration. We also welcome local charities and community organisations in an effort to build a bridge between the business and not-for-profit sectors. At this event we were very pleased to be joined by Galloways Society for the Blind, Derian House Children’s Hospice, Chorley First Aid and Chorley Little Theatre.
Is Chorley Tweetup just for Tweeters?
No! Everyone is welcome, Tweeters and non-Tweeters alike! If you would like to network with people in Chorley come along to our next event. The events are free to attend and held around 4 times each year.
